The following are upcoming events sponsored by SCV camps “Across Our Confederation”…

Jan. 17…The “Delaware Grays, Sons of Confederate Veterans” invite ant the public you to a ceremony to honor the birthdays of General Stonewall Jackson and General Robert E Lee on Saturday January 17th 1pm at the Delaware Confederate Soldiers Monument, Marvel Museum, Georgetown, Delaware. Speeches, flag raising ceremony, a special live performance of “Dixie” and remembrance of Civil War heroes General Lee and Jackson.

Jan. 24…Musician, author and storyteller Stan Clardy will perform “Story Behind the Songs” for the 16th annual Lee/Jackson Day Dinner set for Jan. 24 at The Foundry On The Fair Site, Knoxville.

The Longstreet/Zollicoffer Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans is sponsoring the celebration of the birthdays of Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson.

Clardy, a North Carolina resident, is best known for a one-man play he wrote and performed at the group’s 10th anniversary celebration, ”Soldiers in Gray.”

His first book, “Timelight, A Journey Into the Past,” released in 2003, is a fictional, historical account about the War Between the States and the siege of Charleston during 1863-64. He also creates music in the style of the Civil War. Clardy and his wife, Connie, regularly perform at schools, civic and historic groups throughout the South.

A 6 p.m. social hour will kick off the evening’s events, and will be followed by a drill and flag presentation ceremony by uniformed Confederate re-enactors. The buffet-style dinner begins at 7 p.m. Cost for the event is $29 per adult and $15 for children 12 and under.

Jan. 26…Jim Pearce Camp 2527, Sons of Confederate Veterans will hold their monthly meeting at 7 p.m., Mon­day at George Coon Public Library in Princeton, KY.
