Missouri Brigade Monument, Osceola

Missouri Brigade Monument, Osceola

The recent dedication of the General JO Shelby monument in Waverly, Missouri has generated much publicity and discussion on internet websites and “blogs”.

With this in mind I thought it would be nice to travel back in time to Osceola, Missouri November 1, 2003 when members of the Colonel John T. Coffee Camp #1934 dedicated the Missouri Brigade Monument on a cold and misty day on a bluff that overlooks the confluence of the Sauk and Osage rivers.

Click on the link below to read an interesting speech written and given by Coffee Camp member D.S. Reif that just might change your outlook on Missouri and its relation to the Confederacy.
